The best of the three taxes are property tax. I like property tax for a number of reasons.
1. It's very simple. The county sends you a bill and you pay it.
2. You can control it by where you choose to live.
3. It is unavoidable. You can't hide your land like you can hide your money.
4. Land is the most nonrenewable resource that we have. Property tax encourages efficiency in our use of land.
5. Renters do not get a free ride. Their landlord pays property taxes and would have to charge tenants in rent.
